  Eve Miller Davidson, PSA, led a workshop on "Creating Texture in the Pastel Landscape" using alcohol, gesso and primer together with pastel on sanded paper.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eve demonstrated how the use of Notan principles can improve a painting composition

 

 

 

 

 

A dozen or more PSSC members participated in the workshop, each creating two or more pastel paintings using Eve's techniques for creating texture.

 

 

 

 

 

LUANA LUCONI WINNER WORKSHOP APRIL 9, 2016

 

 

 

 

Luana Luconi Winner, PSA, IAPS Masters Circle, Founding Member of the Portrait Society of America, demonstrated pastel portrait painting in the morning.  Here she shows how she uses pan pastels to mass in areas of the portrait.  Model Anne Brownyard takes a break to watch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Luana explains final touches to Anne's portrait.  During the afternoon workshop, Luana worked with participants individually to critique paintings and provide help with problems.
