... followed by a demonstration from LAURA POLLAK  via ZOOM. What can I say, Laura has won 12 awards this year alone for her striking abstracts. If that doesn’t say something I don’t know what does!  We are excited that she will demonstrate the principles and concepts of abstraction, where to find inspiration, color techniques that WORK, along with the materials and mark making she uses to get that unique look. Watch her work on YouTube: Laura Pollak Artist  or her website is.

12 noon Via Zoom we have a demonstration from DAWN EMERSON from her studio in Oregon. Therefore she is on PST, hence the time change from our usual meetings.

Dawn is known not only for her amazing work in pastels but also mixing pastels with ink, printmaking, and her latest addition is water soluble oils, her books and videos.  Additionally, if you haven’t seen her animals and the movement she captures within her paintings you must take a minute and have a look at her works at

Dawn has produced 6 instructional DVD’s and her latest video is available on Vimeo titled “Breaking New Ground”, features new techniques about layering pastel with water mixable oils.  In April, I will be posting a demonstration video to watch prior to our meeting to familiarize yourself with some of Dawn’s techniques. So mark your calendars and be ready to dance with your easel, play, and enjoy
