Luana Luconi Winner will present a fast paced lecture/ demo in three chapters. The first chapter introduces the development of pastel from the caves in Lascaux, France to the early days to Leonardo’s use in the 1500’s to the first manufacturer of professional pastels in Paris in the 1700’s. Then a quick look at exemplary pastel artists in Europe creating portraits in pastel with the most creative qualities. The second chapter is a very short demo showing how you can make your own pastels of custom colors. The final third chapter is a quick, full color pastel portrait sketch of a character face from coastal Carolina. Come join us for a very full 90 minutes this Saturday!
